Biblical counseling begins with the conviction that God has spoken with authority and sufficiency through His Word. Scripture gives us the framework for understanding God, ourselves, suffering, relationships, sin, hope, and meaningful change.

Scripture Is Our Foundation
Ancient Words Biblical Counseling is a distinctly biblical counseling ministry and is not a psychotherapy, psychology, or licensed professional counseling practice. We do not integrate secular psychological theories or psychotherapeutic models into our counseling; rather, we rely upon Scripture as our authoritative framework for understanding the human heart and addressing the spiritual and relational struggles of life.
Christ Is Our Hope
Lasting hope is not found merely in improved circumstances or better coping strategies. Our hope is found in Jesus Christ, and we address who He is, what He has accomplished, and what it means to live in relationship with Him.
The Holy Spirit Brings Change
True spiritual transformation is not produced by human effort alone. We depend upon the Holy Spirit to illuminate Scripture, convict the heart, strengthen faith, produce spiritual fruit, and conform God’s people increasingly to the likeness of Christ.
The Local Church Matters
Biblical counseling is not meant to replace the ordinary ministry of the local church. Ancient Words values the role of pastors, church community, worship, discipleship, prayer, and Christian fellowship in the life of the believer.
Our Aim
The aim of biblical counseling is not simply to make life more comfortable. We seek to help people understand their lives through God’s Word, respond faithfully to suffering and sin, grow in wisdom and obedience, and increasingly know and follow Christ.
